Catholic Charities
Kathleen Riley, 1st Executive Director of CCJax
Though officially formed in 1944, our legacy of service dates back to 1565 and the first Catholic Mass ever celebrated in Florida. Over four centuries, the Catholic Church in Florida has been serving its community by feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless and helping families and children.

Today, that heritage lives on in the daily spirit of Catholic Charities Bureau, Inc. of the Diocese of St. Augustine. The Jacksonville Regional Office has grown with an annual budget of more than $3 million. Our work is performed by a dedicated staff and many volunteers. We serve more than 6,000 families directly through our programs and make more than 50,000 referrals to or consultations with other agencies, providers and professionals.

Our journey will continue as long as there are those among us who need our care, our compassion and our service.
