Ms. Parker had been struggling with her finances since suffering an injury and being unable to work. Worker’s Comp had been a struggle, and she finally ended up having to file for disability. She is a single lady who lives alone and has good friends who helped her with her small mortgage payments, however the electric bill was a constant worry for her.
Within a span of two years, CC helped Ms. Parker with her electric bill and provided her with food from the pantry. We had not heard from her until we received a phone call earlier this year. She reminded us how we had helped her in a time of need, but now she insisted on making a donation to say thank you. At CC, we do not expect a thank you from our clients but it sure makes a difference when they offer.
CC exists to help those in need, and we do that by using the time, talent and treasure of staff, volunteers, donors and benefactors. |
