2. Emergency Assistance Case Management
The Emergency Assistance Case Management (EACM) homeless prevention program is an expansion of the existing Emergency Assistance Program and provides longer-term case management services to eligible families or individuals with a focus on stability and self-sufficiency. Clients work with a case manager to assess factors that contribute to their emergency situation(s) and to develop a person-centered, unique service plan with specific short- and longer-term goals. A typical service plan spans three to eight months from enrollment to plan completion. Clients (families) enrolled in the EACM are monitored for a 12-month period after program completion.

3. Refugee Resettlement
The refugee-resettlement program of Catholic Charities provides assistance to refugees who have been victims of religious, ethnic, racial or political persecution and are being resettled by the U.S. government in the Diocese of St. Augustine. We serve an average of 400 individuals per year. With the goal of helping refugees become self-sufficient within four months of arrival, our services include assistance in:

              Housing
             Jobs
             Financial assistance
             Furniture
             Food

Parishes Organized to Welcome Refugees (POWR) is a grant sponsored by the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). It is designed to enlist support from parishes and individuals to help refugees assimilate to the Jacksonville community.

Consider inviting the POWR Coordinator to your church or organization to learn how you can volunteer and change the life of a refugee forever. There are numerous volunteer roles such as being a mentor, setting up apartments prior to the refugees' arrival, meeting clients at the airport when they arrive in America, assisting clients with appointments, enrolling their children in school, and so much more. The opportunities are varied and catered to your specific interests and availability. To learn more, contact our POWR Coordinator, Shannon Cutler at (904)354-4846 ext. 268 or scutler@ccbjax.org.

Catholic Charities Partnerships- The JEA Neighbor to Neighbor Program.

Catholic Charities Jacksonville Regional Office partners with the Jacksonville Electric Authority (JEA) to provide financial assistance to families in crisis who are at risk of having their utilities turned off.   The Neighbor to Neighbor program provides limited financial assistance toward the payment of energy and water needs for the elderly, handicapped and poor residents in the JEA service area.  Other energy sources that may qualify for Neighbor to Neighbor funds include fuel, oil, gas, firewood, etc.

Here’s how you can help
If you are a ratepayer of JEA, when you receive your bill, there is a box to indicate if you would like to “Add $___ to your monthly bill: $__ for Neighbor to Neighbor program.” Once you complete this authorization form and indicate how much you would like to add to your monthly electric bill, JEA will collect the money and will forward every dollar to the Neighbor to Neighbor program.  You may also make a one-time donation by sending a gift directly to the Neighbor to Neighbor program.  Catholic Charities is the administrator of the funds at no cost to the community.   100% of your contribution will be used for direct client utilities.  For information about enrolling in the program please call JEA at 665-6000.
