We are blessed to collaborate with parishes and churches. One such collaboration should be commended. Recently, Sacred Heart Catholic Church, a local Catholic Charities Jacksonville satellite office in Fleming Island, identified a family in need. On the brink of eviction and after facing financial strain while attempting to fight for custody for the child of Jane’s husband, Catholic Charities transformed their lives by assisting them with their basic needs keeping them in their home.
How can you receive the support like Jane and her husband? In partnership with the United Way of Northeast Florida, we are part of a streamlined referral service, “United Way 211.” United Way 211 is Northeast Florida’s vital, life-saving helpline that connects anyone in need to available community resources. We ask those that are seeking financial assistance to dial 211 (or 904-632-0600) or you can try their new SMS texting capability by texting “Hello” to 211904, to be referred to Catholic Charities Jacksonville or to another United Way partner agency.
