Eviction protections during COVID-19

Our friends at Jacksonville Area Legal Aid have some very important information to share with the community regarding evictions during the pandemic. As you may know, Gov. DeSantis signed an Executive Order providing for a limited extension of the moratorium suspending temporarily evictions for nonpayment directly related to COVID-19 until September 1, 2020. As September is mere days away, many of you may have questions. JALA is here to help.

We invite everyone to educate themselves by visiting their website linked below.

https://www.jaxlegalaid.org/2020/05/04/eviction-protections-covid-19/ If you are a tenant facing eviction and have questions about your situation, contact JALA. You can also go to JALA’s website at www.jaxlegalaid.org to learn more about tenant rights, or to floridaevictionanswerbuilder.org for some assistance drafting a response to an eviction lawsuit.
