We hope this note finds you and your family well. We are the volunteer leadership team of the Catholic Charities Jacksonville food pantry located at St. Pius V Catholic Church. It has been our privilege to play a role in growing the food pantry from a small storage closet that helped connect clients with emergency financial assistance to our current facility, which serves 140 families every week – providing them each with 50 to 75 pounds of food. This past year has been challenging for everyone, but we are happy to share that, due to the dedication of a small pod of volunteers, we were able to keep the food pantry open when COVID-19 changed all our daily routines. Our team adapted the pantry to a drive-thru, touchless delivery system, increased the number of families served, took steps to expand our basic platform to include fresh milk, and removed limits on frequency of attendance. We had a vision, but none of this would have been possible without your support. Last year, Catholic Charities Jacksonville donors generously gave $175,000 to the Feed A Family campaign in support of the food pantry through a matching gift from Karen and Greg Montana. We are blessed to share that the Montanas are once again challenging us to raise $50,000, and they will personally match your donations with a gift of $50,000. We are humbly asking you to once again support our mission to provide food for our hungry and vulnerable neighbors. The need in our community is great, and we are continuing to take steps to increase our impact – including the recent addition of a weekly evening distribution at the food pantry. Thank you again for your generosity that allows us to care for people in need. Warmest Regards,
