More than 20 local schools participated in Catholic Schools Week here in Jacksonville – and this year, they’re uniting to help fight local hunger. Schools hosted food drives to benefit Catholic Charities Jacksonville’s hunger relief programs, which serve thousands each year and have seen a steep increases in community need since the pandemic.

Catholic Charities staff and volunteers visited the schools on Monday, Feb. 7 to collect all the food donations, alongside students and Deacon Scott Conway. More than 20,000 pounds of food was collected thanks to the generosity of thousands of local students.
